Genuine Joy – My Only Friend and Me

And it might be tinnitus, but I hear him ring. And from here to the end, he’s my only friend — my only friend, and me.

My Only Friend and Me

I’ve got an only friend,
He takes real good care of me
And I can’t quite recall
If there’s been one day
I haven’t heard him speak

Way down deep in my ear
Lord, I can hear him ring
Forever he calls,
Forever he cries,
And he hates everything

He’s got a heart like a lion,
With a voice like a roar
And a passion ignited
By the fires of my soul
And it might be tinnitus
When I hear him sing
But from here to the end,
It’s my only friend,
My only friend and me

Now I know from time to time
It’s good and fine to disagree
And often I find
I need to remind him
Who’s commander-and-chief

But sometimes our battles
Start to threaten the peace
And I lay down my arms,
Surrender my crown,
And give up the seat

He’s got a heart like a lion,
With a voice like a roar
And a passion ignited
By the fires of my soul
And it might be tinnitus
When I hear him sing,
But from here to the end
He’s my only friend,
My only friend and me

And it might be tinnitus
But I hear him sing,
And from here to the end
It’s my only friend,
My only friend and me
